Villa Il Suma is a splendid property situated in the historic centre of San Giovanni d'Asso, approx. 40 south of Siena. This area is scattered with medieval castles, monasteries, towns with ancient fortifications and Renaissance art treasures. This beautiful, scenic part of Tuscany is famous for its Chianti wines and gastronomic cuisine.
A visit to beautiful Florence and to Siena is a must. Pienza is a fine example of a Renaissance town and also well worth a visit.
Villa Il Suma dates back to the 16th century and was lovingly restored. An exceptional villa, very conveniently located to visit is historical cities and enjoy country life at the same time.
Villa Il Suma is a lovely countryhouse with beamed ceilings, original stone fire places and granite floors. All living and sleeping quarters are in one floor, although there are some steps to separate the day area from the sleeping quarters.
There is a tastefully appointed open plan living and dining room with fire place, a formal dining room seating 12, a traditional italian kitchen with large fire place but with all modern appliances and a TV room with comfortable sofas.
There are two sleeping areas. The first one comprises two master bedrooms with bathroom and two double bedrooms, sharing a bathroom. In the other area there are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, each with its own bathroom.
Villa Il Suma has been very tastefully appointed and decorated in an Italian style and enjoys spectaculair panoramic views of the wonderful tuscan hills.
The living/dining room opens onto the terrace and the garden. The garden is a delight with lots of colourful flowers and a lovely swimming pool (12 x 6 mtr.) with a gazebo for al fresco dining. The villa has telephone, fax, internet access and satellite TV.
The accommodation can be enlarged by renting villa Il Panna (no. SI 479), situated on the same estate.
Location
In San Giovanni d'Asso, approx. 40 km. from Siena. It is only 20 min. by car to Pienza, 45 minutes to Siena and about 1 ½ hour to Rome or Florence.
